Boise Fire Station 8
This new fire station, located at the street edge, commands a strong presence from the road. The station’s steel-frame construction features masonry cladding with steel accents, and interior materials include polished concrete flooring, all of which reduce long-term maintenance. This station provides three drive-through vehicle bays, administrative areas, crew living and sleeping areas, a gym, fire fighter work areas, and specialty equipment. Despite the site’s limitations, the result is a pedestrian-friendly and durable urban design.
